Overview
Xpress for FileMaker® (XFM) combines a multi-core server running FileMaker Server 10 with a fully integrated state-of-the-art storage system. Xpress delivers mission-critical data integrity with the world’s fastest FileMaker backups.
XFM backs up any size FileMaker database in about a second. You read that correctly — one second. All other operations continue seamlessly during backups. Each backup is a conventional ".zip" file that you can copy, store, and manipulate like any other zip file. XFM provides a default backup and retention schedule, requiring no action on your part whatsoever to get professional backup coverage. By default backups occur every 15 minutes.

Features
The XFM appliance has three key components: server, disk subsystem, and backup software.
- Server
- The XFM comes standard with a dual-core Intel Xeon CPU (upgradeable to 8 cores) and four GBs of RAM, to support the highest possible FileMaker performance.
- Disk Subsystem
- The XFM uses one of the world's fastest disk subystems, equivalent to a 1.8 million RPM disk drive. Originally designed for real-time processing, financial services, large government labs, and the world's fastest supercomputer applications, Econnectix has adapted this technology to accelerate FileMaker backups. The XFM will back up any size database in about 1 second. Unlike traditional storage, the XFM disk subsystem provides predictable, uniform performance, regardless of I/O size, reads, writes, seeks, or constant or intermittant useage patterns. The XFM disk subsystem will never "hiccup" like traditional storage systems, temporarily "pausing" and then "catching-up", as I/O moves in and out of disk cache.
- Backup Software
- At its heart, the XFM provides a professional, turn-key backup system. Using the XFM, customers do nothing to receive professionally backed up FileMaker databases, every 15 minutes for 2 hours, every hour for a day, and every day for a week. Alternatively, customers may create a custom retention schedule. What would you do differently if you could backup in a few seconds? With an XFM, a few seconds ensures the safety and recoverability of your FileMaker data.
